22-year-old man's body with bullet injury found in Shalimar Bagh

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mohit, a resident of a jhuggi cluster in Haiderpur area of Shalimar Bagh.

A 22-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by three unidentified men in North-West Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area on Sunday night. Police said that they are checking the CCTV of the locality to identify the accused.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mohit, a resident of a jhuggi cluster in Haiderpur area of Shalimar Bagh.

"We received a police control room call at around 6:45 pm where the caller informed us that a man has received bullet injuries and is lying on the road. A team rushed to the spot and found that Mohit was taken to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead," said a senior police officer.

During the investigation, it came to light that Mohit was shot dead by three unidentified men who fled the spot following the incident.

"A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and we are probing the case from all angles including that of personal enmity. We can't speak about the exact motive behind the murder and it will be clear after the accused are nabbed. Further, the investigation is underway," said the officer.

The police said that the body would be handed over to the family after the post-mortem while they are checking the CCTV footages of the area to ascertain the sequence of events.

"Till now, we have not found any CCTV in the area. However, we have started questioning the family members and relatives of the accused in order to find hints," said a senior police officer.
