Virat Kohli is an internet sensation and for the second year running, the Indian cricket team captain has been slotted in at ninth place on the list of 2019’s Instagram sports rich list.
Ranked No. 1 in the ICC’s Test and ODI batsmen rankings, Kohli earns a whopping £158,00 (Rs 1,357,340) per Instagram post, according to Instagram scheduling tool Hopper HQ.
Topping the list is once again Juventus and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo - earning £784,000 per post. The next in line is Neymar, who earns £580,000, followed by Lionel Messi with £521,000.
David Beckham is at fourth, LeBron James at fifth, Ronaldinho at seventh, Gareth Bale at eighth and Luis Suarez at tenth.
How does Hopper HQ work
To determine the richest sportspersons on Instagram, Hopper HQ analyses data based on average engagement. It depends on how often these celebrities post and the number of followers they have. While Kohli has 38.1 million followers on Instagram, Ronaldo has 176 million.
