Northern Warriors won the second edition of T10 League comfortably defeating Pakhtoons by 22 runs in the final on Sunday night.

The Sharjah crowd was witness to some brutal hitting from the Warriors who managed to score a challenging 140 in their stipulated 10 overs. Pakhtoons captain Afridi won the toss and put Northern Warriors to bat. However, the move backfired as Warriors made merry aided by poor bowling from the Pakhtoons.

ZEE5, the global digital entertainment platform from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited recently launched across 190+ countries, are the title sponsors of the Northern Warriors in the second season of the T10 Cricket League. Northern Warriors is one of the three new teams that made their debut in this season of the T10 Cricket League.

For Northern Warriors, Rovman Powell was particularly severe scoring 61 not out of just 25 balls punctuated with 8 fours and 4 sixes to the fence.

Andre Russel showed his big hitting ability scoring a breezy 38 of only 12 balls. He was particularly severe on Dawson scoring 27 runs of the sixth over.

For Pakhtoons, no bowler really made the mark with all conceding more than 10 runs per over. Afridi, Irfan and Ashraf took a wicket each.

Pakhtoons despite losing an early wicket had a good start scoring 62 runs in the first five over. But danger man Fletcher couldn't cash on in his good start. Green got the prized wicket as Fletcher got out for 37 runs. Shafiqullah (26) and Afridi (17) tried to chase down the total, but it was never going to be enough. Pakhtoons finally finished at 118/7, well short of the target. Green (2/11) and Vijoen (2/24) were the pick of the bowlers who sealed the victory for Warriors. Vijoen also finished the tournament with 18 wickets, well ahead of the pack. Deservingly he got the man of the tournament award.

Darren Sammy's men coached by Robin Singh managed to lift the trophy easily thanks to a great all-round effort.
