Rohit Sharma may not feature in India's Test team in England, perhaps a blessing in disguise for him, but the Mumbaikar is still managing to stay in the news.

On Sunday, Rohit put up a post on his official Instagram account and ended up gaining quite a bit of attention. The 'Hitman' shared his Fantasy Premier League squad for the week as the immensely popular English football tournament kicked-off over the weekend.

The 31-year-old has often spoken about his love for football, explaining how he and his Team India mates always find the time to play FIFA on their PlayStations.

Rohit put up a screenshot of his playing XI, a mix of quality players from various teams. He included a couple of players each from Everton, Watford and Liverpool, and one each from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Among the substitutes, Rohit picked Willy Caballero, Joe Bennett, James McArthur, and Alvaro Morata.

"@premierleague kicked off yesterday and this is my team for the week, what’s yours?" wrote Rohit in his post.

Here's Rohit playing XI

Asmir Begovic, Cedric Soares, Luke Shaw, Phil Jagielka, Kiko Femenia, Mohamed Salah, Kevin de Bruyne, Dele Alli, Richarlison de Andrade, Roberto Firmino, Andre Gray.

Sadly for Rohit, though, he ended up being on the receiving end of some severely trolling. Fans lashed out at the cricketer for his selections, with some even asking him to stick to his sport.

Here are some of the comments on Rohit's post

"That team says you don't know anything about the PL."

"U shouldn't have taken morata coz he never scores and Cabellero doesn't play@rohit sir."

"U saw what Caballero did in the world Cup. Still u would choose him. There are tons of keepers. Pickford for example."

"kya sir apki team test match har rehi hai aur app football dekh rehey hai."

"Cricketer discussing football. .do footballer ever discuss about cricket? ? They don't even know who you are."

This isn't the first time Rohit has received hate on social media. Credit to him, though, as he is known to not let such baseless criticism rile him up.
