After failing to impress in the longer format in South Aftrica, prolific Mumbai batter Rohit Sharma was ignored for the first three test matches by the selectors. In the 18 member squad announced by selectors, wicketkeeper batsman Risabh Pant has been named. Karun Nair who lost his way after a great start to his international career has been recalled in the Indian squad.

However, the significance of Rohit Sharma being dropped from the team was not lost on anyone. Sharma who has an impeccable record in ODI and T20 format of the game hasn't had the best outings for India in the longer format. His struggle with the moving ball has meant that Rohit Sharma has had series of poor run for India in test cricket. Now, England will also be a test for batters against quality quicks and Rohit Sharma has been ignored. Normally, players don't comment after getting dropped. Sharma however dropped a cryptic message on Twitter after the team was named. The context of the tweet was very obvious.

He said on Twitter, " Sun will rise again tomorrow".

The implication is that Rohit Sharma is confident that he can again make a comeback in the team. Even if today everything looks doom and gloom, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. The last thing any cricket lover would do is rule out Mr Talent Rohit Sharma out of contention.
