Team Rajasthan’s fast bowlers knocked the stuffing out of Services on day-1 of the group C match currently underway at the SMS Stadium on Monday. From the very first spell, Tanvir-ul-Haq and Aniket Choudhary left no room for the batsmen to free their arms and it was in the fifth over that first wicket fell as Nakul Verma edged Aniket to give wicketkeeper an easy catch. Ravi Chauhan met a similar fate as he was sent packing by Tanvir-ul-Haq in the eighth over. Tanvir snared four wickets while the left-hand bowler Aniket grabbed three scalps to ensure Services are folded at a paltry total of 228. After winning the toss Services decided to bat first, but never looked on track. The only batsman who showed fight was Vikas Hathwala who notched up 49 from 61 balls.

Tanvir said that the bowlers had to put in extra effort to ensure the ball could carry well. “All the bowlers did a fantastic job and were consistent in their effort, so it was a consolidated effort,” he added. The right-arm bowler left the Services stunned with his flawless ability to swing the ball both ways.

Post lunch, Tanvir collaborated with his partner of the last game with whom he restricted J&K on the final day, Nathu Singh (2 wkts) who complemented well from the other side and both shot up Services’ middle order.

The visitors were seven down at the stroke of tea and in when the batters resumed in the final session, Aniket first bowled out Diwesh G Pathania and followed it up with the wicket of Akash Sharma on the consecutive ball.

When Rajasthan came out to bat, the opener Amit Gautam got out cheaply at a score of 1 off 27 balls in the seventh over and when the stumps were drawn for the day, the hosts were 45 at the loss of 1 wicket with Chetan Bist and Mahipal Lomror on the crease. Rajasthan is trailing by 183 run.
