India v/s Sri Lanka: VVS Laxman trolls Russel Arnold with hilarious reply to ODI series prediction

The recently-concluded India-Sri Lanka Test series wasn't a tour the islanders will remember too fondly.

Other than the very start and very end of the series, Lanka were out-classed by Virat Kohli's men in every department of the game. A comfortable 1-0 victory in the three-match series meant India continued their utter domination over Sri Lanka in the recent years.

As it turns out, though, the Lankans weren't just having a bad time on the field. In the commentary box as well, former cricketer Russel Arnold seemed to have had a rather arduous time in India.

As if the pain of watching his team surrender meekly on the field wasn't enough, Arnold failed regularly with the predictions he gave from the comm box.

Even so, the former Lankan batsman didn't lose heart and gave another prediction, this time for the upcoming ODI series. "So Test series ends 1-0 and I can promise you the ODI's wont end 5-0 like it did a few months ago !!!," he wrote on Twitter.

Arnold was referring to the whitewash India had inflicted on Sri Lanka when they had toured the island-nation earlier in the year.

This prediction by Arnold fell flat too as former Indian batsman and co-commentator VVS Laxman reminded him that the ODI series will have just three matches and hence a 5-0 result will be impossible. "Sure Russel, it won’t in a 3 match series. This prediction won’t fail," wrote Laxman.
