David Warner is all set to lead Winnipeg Hawks in Global T20 Canada league. Warner will take charge after Dwayne Bravo pulled out of the tournament.

Bravo will be replaced by Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim in the team.

Warer has been banned by Cricket Australia from playing international cricket for a period of 12 months after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa. CA has also banned David Warner from any leadership role in Australia for life.

As per the investigation conducted by CA, Warner was identified as the chief plotter in the ball-tampering saga - where he instructed Cameron Bancroft to use sandpaper to change the condition of the ball.

"I'm sure he's going to be a good leader when it comes to captaincy. "(Warner) is a leader. He's a team man. I've seen him in IPL and I've seen him as a leader. He's up there, he's upfront and he likes to give whatever his knowledge is, he's always there," Waqar Younis, coach of Winnipeg Hawks told News Corp on the left-hander's appointment as captain.

Warner has led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to their maiden IPL title in 2016. He was however banned from participating in IPL 2018 after the ban.
