Select pulses led by arhar fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.

However, gram and its dal edged higher on scattered enquiries.

Traders said fall in demand from retailers against ample stocks on increased supplies from producing regions, mainly led to the decline in arhar and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal prices drifted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,350 and Rs 6,300-8,100 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,750-3,950 and Rs 3,800-4,050 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,050- 4,550 and Rs 4,150-4,650 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local weakened by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,400 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 6,000-6,500 and Rs 6,500-6,700 per quintal.

Urad and its dal chilka local shed Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,700 and Rs 4,800-4,900 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,900-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,500 per quintal.

On the other hand, gram edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 5,700- 6,500 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,400-6,800 and Rs 6,800-6,900 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal): Urad Rs 4,700-5,700, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 4,800-4,900, Urad best Rs 4,900-5,400, Dhoya Rs 5,300-5,500, Moong Rs 4,700-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,600, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,000-6,500 and best quality Rs 6,500-6,700.
