Closing bell: Sensex closes in green, Nifty too above 10,500 mark

Key indices on Monday recovered from their biggest fall since August. The benchamrk BSE Sensex traded higher by 322.79 points, or 0.95%, to 34,328.55, while the Nifty 50 rose 97.05 points, or 0.93%, to 10,552.

Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation climbed as much as 3.8 per cent to Rs 194.5, their highest since February 2. The stock posted its biggest intraday percentage gain since January 23

Oil India shares rose on strong Q3 results. The stock jumped as much as 2.9 per cent to Rs 365.50.

Indian Bank today reported a fall of nearly 19 per cent in net profit at Rs 303.06 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, due to higher operating expenses, provisioning and contingency reserve.

The public sector bank had registered a net profit of Rs 373.48 crore in the corresponding October-December period of previous fiscal.

Homegrown retail major Future Enterprises today reported a standalone net profit of Rs 81.92 crore for the quarter ended on December 31, 2017.

The company, earlier known as Future Retail Ltd (FRL), had posted a net loss of Rs 37.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Future Enterprises' (FEL) revenue from operation stood at Rs 1,091.41 crore in the quarter under review. It was Rs 944.73 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.

Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) today said the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved sale of its integrated Mumbai power business to Adani Transmission in a Rs 18,800 crore deal.

RInfra and Adani Transmission had signed a definitive binding agreement for 100 per cent stake sale of the integrated business of generation, transmission and distribution of power for Mumbai in December 2017, RInfra said in a statement.

According to the statement, total consideration value is estimated at Rs 18,800 crore. The transaction is expected to be completed by March 2018.
