Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' marching towards Rs 250 crore mark at the box office

Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike has turned out to be a blockbuster film. The film released on January 11, 2019, is based on the surgical strike conducted by the Indian military against the suspected militants in PoK happened in 2016. The film marked the directorial debut of Aditya Dhar and starred Yami Gautam as the female lead. Since the time, Uri released, people have been lauding about the film and it's still running successfully in theatres. 

On Monday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the box-office update of Uri and the movie has definitely created wonders. He tweeted, "#UriTheSurgicalStrike continues its incredible run... Biz on [eighth] Mon [#Mahashivratri] is higher than [eighth] Fri... Crosses *lifetime biz* of #Simmba... Eyes ₹ 250 cr... [Week 8] Fri 38 lakhs, Sat 80 lakhs, Sun 1.18 cr, Mon 67 lakhs. Total: ₹ 240.38 cr. India biz."

This means the film is inching closer to Rs 250 mark at the domestic box-office.

On the other hand, Komal Nahta, another trade analyst told a media agency, "Uri is the tenth highest grosser in India if Baahubali: The Conclusion is counted. Otherwise, it's at the ninth spot. It has netted Rs 240 crore-plus so far, making it the second-highest Return on Investment (ROI) film."

With Uri, the whole nation started chanting, "How's the josh? High sir!" Even, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi was heard saying it at a press conference held in Mumbai.
