Taapsee Pannu says no to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, here's why

Casting director Honey Trehan, who has worked on movies like Raees, Omkara and Talvar, is all set to foray into direction, with a crime thriller starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, the hunt for the leading lady is still on. We hear that Honey had approached Taapsee Pannu for the female lead. Says a source, “Honey and Taapsee were in talks for the murder mystery, but the actress didn’t like the project. Apparently, she wasn’t too keen on being paired with Nawaz in the film, hence she refused the offer.” 

Earlier this year, Honey was supposed to make his directorial debut with Sapna Didi, a gangster flick starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, in leading roles. Honey and Vishal Bhardwaj were good friends and the latter came on board as a producer, too. But the two had a major fallout, post which Vishal decided to direct the film himself. 

In fact, Vishal had almost locked Nawaz for another project, Chhuriyaan, which he’s currently shooting. The movie, which is about sibling rivalry, features Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover. After Hrs had reported how things went awry between Nawaz and Vishal, after the former demanded some changes in the script. Now, we wonder if Honey and Nawaz teaming up together, is a matter of pure coincidence or there’s more to the story? After all, an enemy’s enemy is a friend!
