Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' to premiere on Zee Cinema, latter shares his excitement

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar provided its audiences with a treat in 2018. The created a movie which had story and larger-than-life visual effects. For those who still could not guess, the movie we are talking about is their blockbuster release '2.0'.

The sequel of Rajinikanth's movie 'Robot', '2.0' was one of the biggest hits of 2018. It was the second-highest grossing film in India and sixth highest grossing Indian film overseas. The gross lifetime Box Office collection of the movie is estimated to be Rs. 800 crore.

The story of Chitti, played by Rajinikanth in 'Robot', continued with Pakshi Rajan aka Akshay Kumar in '2.0'. Apart from Chitti, Rajini also played the role of Vaseegaran and Kutti in the movie which marked Akshay Kumar's debut in the Tamil film industry.

Sharing his excitement over '2.0' being Akshay Kumar's debut in Tamil industry, the Khiladi said, "I play the antagonist in the film. I was given a role that many people only dream of portraying in their lifetime. I couldn’t imagine a bigger dream project that this movie. After doing the film I can only say that Shankar sir is truly the man that fulfils everyone’s dreams and makes them come true."

Directed by Shankar, the movie also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn and K. Ganesh in pivotal roles. The movie is set to make its grand premiere on Zee Cinema on Sunday i.e. on April 21, 2019 at noon (12 pm).
