Kareena Kapoor Khan admits hubby Saif Ali Khan was ready to change Taimur's name to 'Faiz' post the backlash

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's baby Taimur has been grabbing the eyeballs ever since he was born. The netizens were busy crushing over the first pictures of the little munchkin until the news broke that Saif and Kareena have decided to name their little bundle of joy - Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. 

As soon as the name of their newborn made it to social media, all hell broke loose. Both Saif and Kareena were massively trolled for apparently naming their son after the cruel and ruthless Turco-Mongol conquerer Timur, also known as Amir Timur or Tamerlane (since Taimur sounds similar to Timur). Even though, Saif later clarified that the name Taimur hasn't got anything to do with the historic ruler, but in fact it means, iron, the backlash seemed to be never ending. 

While both Saif and Kareena stayed strong all through the controversy, not many know that Saif had almost given in to the massive pressure and was ready to change Taimur's name to 'Faiz'. Kareena recently made this revelation while speaking with senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai at India Today Conclave 2018. 

It was in fact, Kareena who didn't give in to the pressure and said that her son will be called Taimur only and he will grow up to be as strong as iron. She was quoted as saying, "Saif was ready to change his name to Faiz but I was not going to succumb to public pressure; my son is Taimur, and will grow up to be, like his name, an Iron Man one day.."
