Tusshar opens up on his feelings as a single father...
It's been exactly a year since Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor welcomed his little baby boy, Laksshya, into his life. The baby boy was born on June 1, 2016. The Golmaal Again actor broke several stereotypes by becoming the first Bollywood actor to become a single father through surrogacy.
As Laksshya Kapoor celebrates his first birthday today, Tusshar, who is a single parent, opens up about the moments before his son's birth. In a chat with BT, he talks about being a single parent and about the beautiful moments before the birth of his son.
Tusshar Kapoor said, "Even though I was sure of what I was doing, the hours before his birth were a bit unnerving. I felt like most fathers do at that point – there was a lot of nervous excitement. I remember I didn’t sleep the night he was born. The following morning, when the doctor brought Laksshya to me, I told her that I was a bit nervous. She calmed me down, saying that I was doing fine. Even though I was prepared, when it really happened, it took a while to sink in," reports the daily.
He also added, "Fatherhood is the best thing that can happen to a man. I see him crawling and babbling, and I know that these are the best moments that will never come back. He will grow up and have his own life; so, while he’s in my hands, I want to cuddle him as much as I can. I’m not a party animal and I maintain a balanced life. So, as a single father, I’m doing as much as both parents would do for their child."
Also, Aunt Ekta Kapoor shared a super cute picture on Instagram to wish Laksshya Kapoor on his first birthday. She captioned the picture as, "Last year on this day a summery June night ......a Gemini aunt found her twin! Happy bday my joy love n everything #happybdaylaqu "
Word has it that there's going to be a birthday bash at the Kapoor’s residence today to celebrate Laksshya’s first birthday and we cannot wait for the pictures from the party!
