A knotty affair: Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernanadez fall for the allure of the front knots

The knotted bralette trend shows no signs of fading out. It’s been around for a few seasons now and it’s not uncommon to see actresses knotting their tees and tops to reveal a hint of their midriff. Priyanka Chopra was seen in a knotted bralette with a matching gingham skirt recently and last week, Esha Gupta sported one with denims at the airport. The likes of Kangana Ranaut, Malaika Arora, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ananya Panday have a penchant for tying up their sporty tees as they hit the gym or pick up coffee. Stylist Isha Bhansali sees it as a sexy way of nailing the oversized trend. “A midriff flash is always welcome and a knotted style is the best way to make anti-fit sexy and I am loving that,” says Isha.

Labels like Michael Kors and Hemant and Nandita have toyed with this style in their resort and ready to wear offerings. Stylist Divyak D’Souza says, “Jacquemus did it in a cool way in his South of France signature with cool hats. Give it your own spin and make it look refreshing.” 

Designer Amit Aggarwal observes, “The trend does spruce up one’s daily wardrobe, but I personally prefer a tee to be worn in its classic way and kept true to the beauty of its quintessential style.”

Designer Saaksha of the label Saaksha and Kinni shares, “Knitted tees are fun and playful and therefore no one is getting tired of the trend. It’s a great way of taking a classic tee or top and having fun with it and elevating it. It’s simple to do and why not show off all the hard work if you have been working out.”
