With its promise of providing corruption-free governance taking a beating and the Congress hitting the poll mode, the BJP’s leadership has charted out an action plan to retain its turf.

In a high-level leaders’ meeting on Monday, BS Yeddyurappa’s demand for reinstatement as the chief minister was put on hold. The party high command has been authorised to take appropriate decision on his demand and Yeddyurappa was reportedly asked to show restraint till the national leaders have spare time following the ongoing assembly polls in five states.

Meanwhile, the meeting finalised a roadmap to rejuvenate the  party and strengthen it in areas where the BJP’s base is weak. To begin with, division-level BJP conventions will be organised at Belgaum and Bijapur on February 11. All party MPs, MLAs and MLCs will be asked to participate in them.

The meeting chaired by BJP state president KS Eshwarappa and attended by Yeddyurappa and chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda also decided to convene a meeting of all senior leaders on February 24.

The BJP state executive meeting will be held in Mangalore on March 1 and March 2 to discuss the issues dogging the party.
