Woman kills minor son, commits suicide in Bangalore

A woman smothered her five and a half year old son to death and then hanged herself from the ceiling fan at her residence here, police said today.

They said she was married to a software engineer for the past eight years.She was reportedly frequently harassed by her in laws in Chittoor. The couple used to have frequent quarrels over her with to stay here and the husband's insistence on resigning his job and staying with his parents

She reportedly took the extreme step yesterday after her husband decided to stay back in Chittor last week and told her he would resign from the firm.

The incident came to light today when her sister came to her house and found both dead.

A dowry harassment case has been filed against the man and his parents.
