Woman kills daughter, self in Bangalore

A 33-year-old woman killed her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and herself in her house in Kodigehalli on Tuesday night.

The woman, Hemavathi, made her daughter, Yukta, consume insecticide and then consumed it herself in her house in Badrappa Layout when her husband was away. The incident came to light about 11pm when her husband, Rangaswamy, a mechanic, returned home from work and found them dead.

The police said Hemavathi had got married to Rangaswamy six-and-a-half years ago. Hemavathi left a suicide note, which stated her husband had no role behind her decision to end her life. However, the police said the couple had disputes between them for a couple of years and this might be the reason she committed suicide.

The bodies were handed over to the family after postmortem.
