Training centre BASE felicitates toppers

Overall, BASE students have secured 66 of the top 100 ranks in CET 2011. In PUC, 10 BASE students figure in the top 10 positions.

True to its name, training centre BASE does strive to promote what it stands for—Be Ahead with Sustained Excellence. BASE has the distinction of helping 75 students qualify for admission into IITs this year. The state's topper in IIT-JEE is also its student.

BASE students have also secured first ranks in both CET engineering and medical streams. In the CET engineering stream, BASE students secured nine out of the top 10 ranks and in the medical, they secured five out of the top 10 positions.

Overall, BASE students have secured 66 of the top 100 ranks in CET 2011. In PUC, 10 BASE students figure in the top 10 positions. On Sunday, BASE felicitated the top achievers of competitive examinations.

Chief guest Dr AR Upadhya, director, National Aerospace Laboratories, congratulated the students and the faculty of BASE for the achievement.

He said, "All of you students will be entering the real world now, and you will find that it is very different from your academic world. BASE has given you the foundation for your future efforts in life."
Dr BN Raghunandan, professor, department of Aerospace, IISc, who was also present on the occasion as the guest of honour, stressed the importance of hard work and determination.

Following the felicitation, a panel discussion on "Emerging Window of Career Opportunities" was organised to address some of the pressing questions of choosing the right career path.
The panel discussion was presided over by Dr KN Balasubramanya Murthy, principal of PESIT Bangalore.
