BJP state president KS Eshwarappa has ruled out the possibility of change of leadership in the state.

“Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda will continue in his post,” he said.

Reacting to the campaign by former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa’s loyalists for his reinstatement as the chief minister in the light of state high court quashing the Lok Ayukta FIR against Yeddyurappa in the mining case, Eshwarappa said, “BJP national president Nitin Gadkari has already made it clear that the chief minister will not be changed.”

Eshwarappa denied reports of Yeddyurappa quitting BJP if his demand was not met.

“Yeddyurappa will not quit BJP as he has built the party through his sweat and toil over the past four decades,” he said. He also stated that Yeddyurappa would campaign for BJP candidate in the Chikmagalur-Udupi Lok Sabha by-poll.

Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa loyalists have invited Gowda, Eshwarappa and Gadkari for the rally in Hubli on March 11 to felicitate the former chief minister.

However, it is not sure whether Gowda and Gadkari would attend the rally.

“Yes I have been invited for the rally. But I am not sure whether I will be able to attend it as I have other pre-scheduled engagements,” Gowda said. The chief minister also said that he had no plans to visit Delhi to meet party national leaders to discuss political developments in the state.

“Right now, I am busy preparing the state budget and I will go to Delhi only after presenting the state budget on March 21,” he said.

However, excise minister MP Renukacharya continued his defiant stand against party state president, stating that Yeddyurappa should be reinstated as the chief minister and it would happen soon. Preparations are in full swing by Yeddyurappa’s loyalists for the March 11 rally in Hubli.
