Lambasting the state government’s move to grant permission to female bartenders in Bangalore, the Sri Rama Sene has warned excise minister MP Renukacharya of dire consequences if he does not withdraw the decision.

Infamous for assaulting girls in a pub in Mangalore, the outfit said it would organise a state-wide campaign if the government goes ahead with its decision to allow female bartenders in pubs and restaurants in Bangalore.

Speaking from Hubli, Rama Sene president Pramod Muthalik said, “The BJP which claims to be a party of virtues with respect for the womenfolk has shown that it was no better than any populist political parties which will stoop down to any level to have its way. We will organise a state-wide campaign if the government did not take back its decision to employ women in pubs and bars. If need be, we will take the matter to the court of law.”

Coming down heavily on Renukacharya, district president of the organisation Kumar Malemar said, “Sri Rama Sene, which is driven by the ideology of upholding the dignity and modesty of women, will fight tooth and nail against Renukacharya’s design to expose women to the world of alcoholics. We will take the fight against the evil designs of the minister and the government to the streets. If required, we will employ all the measures that are in our disposal, which the minister and the government may regret.”

“The Sri Rama Sene has also been involved in empowerment of women. Those who want jobs can approach us and we will show them the ways of honourable and dignified livelihood,” said Malemar.
