Many family members, including children, were beaten up, dragged and even molested, said Ali.

The police allegedly barged into the house of a widow and stripped her on the pretext of a search. They allegedly did not listen to her pleas that she is a widow even as the police asked her for information about her husband.

Further, even showing his death certificate did not satisfy, the police, said Fathima in her memorandum. Two women have been reported missing in the operation.
