BJP national president Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday sent a clear message to all BJP MLAs and party leaders to clean up their act and concentrate on winning the forthcoming taluk and zilla panchayat (ZP) polls.

“No more scams and no more infighting,” Gadkari emphasised and reiterated that there would be no change of leadership and that chief minister BS Yeddyurappa would continue.

“The BJP national leadership is fully backing Yeddyurappa. We don’t want to create instability in the state. Whatever the problems within the party should be discussed within the party forum and solved,” Gadkari said.

Gadkari, who chaired a series of meetings at a luxury resort on the outskirts of the city with BJP office-bearers, legislators and ministers to formulate a strategy to win the ZP, TP polls said, “There is no proposal for change of leadership. BJP government will continue under the leadership of Yeddyurappa. All the ministers and MLAs have expressed full confidence in him. Yeddyurappa is doing a good job. He has won all the elections after he became the chief minister. Now, we are concentrating on TP and ZP polls,” he said.

To a question on vacant berths in the cabinet, he said that there would be a cabinet expansion after the polls.

Terming the opposition charges of corruption against the BJP government as baseless, he expressed confidence that the BJP would give a befitting reply by winning maximum number of seats in the polls.
