Lokayukta sleuths, on Thursday, raided the office and residence of Vijayanagar MLA M Krishnappa and his son Priya Krishna, who is an MLA from the neighbouring Govindrajnagar constituency. The raid was conducted following a complaint filed by city-based advocate SP Prakash, who in his private complaint to the Lokayukta court on January 30, stated that Krishnappa and his son had amassed disproportionate wealth.

Based on the court’s direction, the Lokayukta police registered a case and, on Thursday, three teams conducted simultaneous raids on Krishnappa’s house and office, and also raided the house of Krishnappa’s business partner.

Documents related to property, both movable and immovable, were seized. Officials have seized Rs7.11 lakh cash from Krishnappa’s house, along with property documents and plans of 20 layout maps, a car, 8kg silver and 1kg of gold valuables, electronic goods, and appliances. The value of the seized property is being estimated, said HN Satyanarayana Rao, additional director general of police. Another team of officials raided the house of Ashok Gowda, a confidant and business partner of Krishnappa.

The team recovered property documents and other valuables from his house.

The Lokayukta police also raided Lakshminarayana Enterprises, a real estate office owned by Krishnappa and seized bank passbooks, documents and vehicles.
