Karnataka govt has released sufficient funds: Sadananda Gowda

The Karnataka CM said his government had released "sufficient" funds for tackling drought situation in the state, a day after his predecessor BS Yeddyurappa shot off a letter to him.

Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Monday said his government had released "sufficient" funds for tackling drought situation in the state, a day after his predecessor BS Yeddyurappa shot off a letter to him.

Taking an indirect dig at Yeddyurappa, Gowda who visited the drought hit areas of the district, quipped "even if Siddaramaih (opposition Congress leader) writes letter to the government over drought situation, it will be considered".

"All the letters, even if press persons writes, will also be considered", he said when reporters sought his reaction to Yeddyurappa's letter, in which the former Chief Minister demanded immediate release of Rs200 crore for employment guarantee scheme and Rs25 lakh to each of the affected taluka for relief works.
