Illegal mining: Reddy may be brought to Bellary any time

If close aides of G Janardhana Reddy are to be believed, the former minister, too, may soon be brought to Bellary. Speculation is rife that the former tourism minister may be brought to Bellary by September 20, if not on Sunday night itself.

In the meantime, the CBI’s search at Srinivas Reddy’s house was on till Saturday night. CBI officials have been checking the accounts of Srinivas, his wife, relatives, aides and others close to him, sources said.

Srinivas’s wife, children, parents and relatives came to see him.

“It was a casual meet,” police sources said. Somashekara Reddy and his family member and followers,, too visited him. At the same time, CBI officials continued their search.

Janardhana Reddy could be brought to city by September 20. Interestingly, on September 19, both the high court and CBI court will hear his bail plea.

Additionally, six CBI officials visited the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border on Saturday morning and checked for border encroachment and evidence of destruction of the border and survey stones. Around 9.30am, the officials reached the border at Hirehal. The officials visited Mehaboob Transport Company , Havinahalu Mines and Tapal Narayana Reddy Mines.

The officials found that the iron-ore from these companies were transported to a plant in H Siddapura, which falls under the Mallappanagudi panchayat limits. The officials also collected information from truck owners and transport company owners from Gangalapura and Thumati villages on where the iron-ore was transported to, who asked them to do it and who made the payments, etc.
