Garbage, stink greet BBMP chief

The BBMP commissioner, Siddaiah, inspected the cleanliness and solid waste management mechanism RT Nagar, Ganganagar, Dasappa Garden, Chamundinagar, Sultanpalya, Matadahalli and other places on Friday.

The commissioner found that the garbage was not disposed properly at RT Nagar. Even though the BBMP had identified the place as temporary garbage dumping places, Siddaiah found that local public and the nearby shop owners were dumping the waste regularly, spreading foul smell around. He directed the zonal environmental engineers to clear the garbage twice a day.

Siddaiah also inspected a building which is under construction at 9th Cross, 2nd Block, RT Nagar. The building materials were dumped on the road for a year, due to which there is a huge traffic problem. Noticing this, the commissioner immediately ordered the officials to send a notice to the building owner and also to seize the construction materials.

The commissioner also noticed an unauthorised hotel there, due to which the vehicles were being parked, further creating a traffic
bottleneck.
