The Board of Studies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a two-day national conference, ‘Udaan’, for chartered accountancy (CA) students at Sophia High School on Saturday.

The convention, which saw the participation of about 1,500 students, was primarily a platform to make the students industry-ready, said CS Srinivas, convention director.

“The sessions have been programmed in such a way that it provides aspiring CA students a holistic view on taxations, auditing, information technology solutions, laws and more,” he said.

The event will feature a special session on India’s black money stashed abroad. “Students will also get the unique opportunity to interact with the members of the Board of Studies. It is the body that is responsible for the curriculum of chartered accountancy,” he said.

During the convention, students will take part in several brainstorming sessions, addressing various topical issues such as international taxation, goods and service tax and value-added taxes.
