The message is loud and clear. The women in the city have spoken, and it looks like they know exactly what they want from their ideal mate—they want a man from the Indian armed forces. A recent Neilson India survey has revealed that a whopping 88% of women in the city find the qualities of an Indian soldier desirable.

Eschewing popular stereotypes about lawyers, engineers, and doctors, the nation-wide survey conducted found that women listed core qualities they associate with soldiers, such as integrity, courage, and camaraderie, to be the attributes they look for in their Mr Right.

But finding Mr Right is not the only objective. As a result of the survey, the company has partnered with Sainik Welfare Organisation (SWO-India) to provide aid to the armed personnel in need.

“The objective is to serve two segments of uniformed personnel — the serving and the retired. These individuals have the right to a decent standard of living,” said Colonel Rakesh Rana, Kirti Chakra, chairman of SWO-India.

He further elaborated that it was this cause that attracted the organisation towards the campaign. “This initiative is a conscious effort taken to benefit the lives of the real heroes of our nation— the soldiers who devoted their lives to serve our country,” he said, adding that funds will also be directed towards families of armed personnel who are in need.
