A 26-year-old homemaker allegedly committed suicide by hanging in her paramour’s house in Jaraganahalli on Tuesday.

The deceased, Kusu, was a resident of Maruthinagar, Hulimavu. Kusu had got married to Lokesh five years ago and had three children with him. The couple hail from Nepal, said the police. The duo rented a house in Maruthinagar and owned an eatery. Lokesh used to supply food to firms. A year ago, Lokesh hired Puran, who also hails from Nepal. After two months, Kusu began an extramarital affair with Puran.

Later, Puran left the eatery and began working at another shop, but he did not sever ties with Kusu. The duo spoke to each other regularly over phone and met at his house. At 1pm on Tuesday, Kusu came to Puran’s house and expressed her desire to stay with him permanently, but Puran turned down her suggestion.

The duo had an argument over the issue and later, Kusu served lunch to Puran, who fell unconscious. Kusu then hanged herself with a dupatta in the kitchen. The incident came to light when Puran’s house owner found the house door ajar; he saw Puran was fast asleep and found Kusu hanging from the ceiling.
