Although the Indian Air Force (IAF) might have ignored the pleas of Shalini, the widow of former Sarang aerobatic team member Wng Cdr Vikas Jetley, a city-based private institution has come forward to help her with a teaching job.
IAF had turned a deaf ear to Shalini’s repeated requests to provide her a teaching job at the Air Force School (TAFS) in Subroto Park, New Delhi.
But a day after DNA reported on Shalini’s plight, the Indus International School promoted by Mantri Developers came forward to help her on Thursday.
Apart from the job offer, many former students have written to the TAFS principal to provide her a teaching job.
Wng Cdr Vikas Jetly died on January 11 after being in coma for four years. He suffered serious head injuries following the crash of a Dhruv chopper on February 2, 2007 at the Air Force Yelahanka while rehearsing for the Aero India.
