Statistics have it that infertility affects eight to 10% of married couples in India and the causes for infertility is steadily growing in both men and women. Thus, assisted reproductive centres are gaining popularity as they assist couples opting for children.

Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore on Wednesday announced the launch of 'Creation' - Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Centre at their Bannerghatta Road Hospital.

It is being set up as a part of Fortis Women and Child Care Programme dedicated to fertility and minimal access surgery procedure. The centre will provide a comprehensive care and tailor-made solutions to its customers for all aspects of infertility.

"We will ensure that patients are fully involved in all the decision making processes, and provided with the comprehensive solution. Also, we will be following the highest standards of medical ethics and principles so that infertile couples get the right advice and treatment," said Dr Manisha Singh, consultant gynecologist and sub-specialist in reproductive medicine and surgery, Creations.

Actor Priyanka Upendra, who inaugurated the centre, said, "With the growing problem of infertility due to various health and lifestyle disorders, Fortis Hospitals has taken a good initiative in providing parents the joy of childbirth. A comprehensive unit comprising dedicated expertise and right technology to deal with such reproductive issues is a need of society."

Services offered
Creation will offer a wide range of services such as basic infertility assessment, surgical correction of pelvic pathologies (fibroid, endometrioses, etc.), intrauterine insemination, donor sperm insemination, in-vitro fertilization (IVF), blastocyst transfer, frozen embryo replacement cycles, egg donation, embryo donation and surgical sperm retrieval to treat male factor infertility by intra-cyto-plasmic sperm injection (ICSI procedure) to name a few.
