20-year-old girl found dead in well

A 20-year-old woman was found dead in an open well in Balappa Layout on Saturday morning in the limits of Adugodi police station.

The deceased has been identified as R Sujatha, a II PUC student in a private college from Anekal. This is the third such case that has come to light during the week.

Sujatha had been missing since February 2; a complaint had been filed at Anekal local police station. Police suspect that Sujatha had committed suicide two days ago.

Police said that Sujatha was autorickshaw driver Ramu’s daughter. The family moved from Adugodi to Anekal two years ago. Ramu told the police that Sujatha had joined school when she was eight years and that she was not good at academics. She was also being treated for depression at KIMS Hospital.

The doctor who did an autopsyat Victoria Hospital told the police that she had died of drowning. Police do not suspect foulplay. “We have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating it. The postmortem report will confirm whether it was a case of murder or suicide,” an investigation officer said.

Man’s body found in drain
The body of a 55-year old unidentified man was found in the drain in Adugodi police quarters area on Saturday morning. The police have learnt that the body had been lying in the drain since 8am on Saturday. The police are yet to identify the deceased. The body has been kept in the KIMS hospital mortuary.
