2 gangsters arrested in Bangalore

Two associates of underworld dons - Ravi Poojary and Nikhil Shetty were arrested while they were planning to rob and murder a businessman near Cottonpet, police said today.

Bhaskar alias Mukka Bachu, 28, and Anand Shetty, 54, were arrested last night and weapons and Rs 52,000, among other things, recovered from them, a city crime branch statement said.

Three other aides - Yeda Vasanth, Ganesh and Venu - are absconding and hunt is on for them.

During interrogation the two disclosed that they had received orders from Poojary and Shetty to eliminate a businessman for money, the statement said.
