From MF Husain to Basuki Dasgupta; from Drubajyoti Baral to G Subramanian; Saturday has some serious indulgences in store for the city's art lovers. Nearly 22 artists' works will be on display at this show that is being held at the Taj West End Art Corridor.

However, the two artists whose works will be the focus for the evening are Vikash Kalra and Sekhar Roy. Known to be inspired by the works of Picasso and Souza, Kalra's paintings can be identified by his bold strokes on canvas and free flow of inner thoughts. "I believe about six or seven of my works will be on display at the exhibition in Bangalore," says Kalra. "I have been working on two series - one in on kama and the other one on mythology. I have selected a few works from both of these collections for the show. My works are inspired by our day to day lives, things that we feel and go through every day."

Sekhar Roy, on the other hand, doesn't believe in labelling his works. "I have a certain style of painting, which is almost like my signature. And I don't like giving titles to my works," says the artist. About six mid-sized paintings from Roy's existing collections will be on display at the show this weekend. "What I have done for this show though is chosen some of my more colourful paintings," he adds. The artist, who is also known for his strong brush strokes, excels in figurative paintings, but has also been known for a three-dimensional effect to some of his works.
