The turf war between the departments of health and medical education over control of 10 hospitals associated with the medical education department is set to end.

The turf war between the departments of health and family welfare and medical education over control of 10 hospitals associated with the medical education department is set to end with the government moving to merge the two departments.
The cabinet sub-committee headed by deputy chief minister R Ashoka has proposed the merger of two departments at a meeting chaired by him and attended by health minister SA Ramdas, medical education minister Aravinda Limbavali and law minister S Suresh Kumar, here on Wednesday.
An expert committee would be constituted for working out the modalities of implementation of the merger of the two departments. The committee will submit its report within 3 months.
