Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Friday, proposed to establish a Central Command Centre in Bangalore, to control the terrorist activities.

Presenting the state budget for the year 2015-16, Siddaramaiah said a scheme with an outlay of Rs 50 crore will be implemented in a period of three years to have modernised arms and ammunitions essential for this purpose.

The chief minister further said that for the improvement of the health of police personnel in the state, Rs 9 crore would be provided towards annual medical check up at the rate of Rs 1,000 for each personnel. “In addition, for providing speedy treatment to police personnel, the government will establish 50 outpatients police health centers in different units in the state,” Siddaramaiah said.

He said that six special units with 15 personnel headed by an officer of SP rank would be established in the state to improve investigations of crimes committed against women. “State FSL unit will be reconstituted with a view to improve the scientific investigation of crimes and to enhance the quantum of punishment,” Siddaramaiah said.

In order to improve the traffic regulation in Bangalore city, B-Track system would be continued for the next three years. “Surveillance cameras need to be installed in cities to take up emergency operations for public safety and security. For this purpose, Rs 8 crore is earmarked to Bangalore city during this year. It is proposed to establish a new prison in the outskirts of Bangalore during this year. Three new anti-naxal squads will be established to curb the menace of naxal activities on the borders of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. A total amount of Rs 4,372 crore is provided to the Home Department during 2015-16,” he added.

Thirty new police stations, including 10 women police stations, would be opened in the state for public safety and security.
