The 7th edition of SBI Bengaluru Midnight Marathon was kicked off Sunday with the CXO Power Mile Run, with many CXOs from city’s corporate houses participating to show their support for the development of Bangalore and ‘Bhaag Bengaluru Bhaag’ cause, the theme for this year’s Midnight Marathon scheduled for December 14.

The 1-km CXO Power Mile was flagged off from KTPO, Whitefield, by Rajeeb Roy, president, Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC). Milkha Singh, the brand ambassador of the 7th edition of SBI BMM, had unveiled the theme at a press conference earlier this week.

This will be the 7th year that BMM is being conducted as the main fund raiser event for RBITC’s social service projects relating to environment, health, community and vocational services. RBITC will use the net proceeds for projects in the sectors of health, education and for addressing various other social issues.

Corporates like GE, HP, Dell, iGate, Manipal Hospitals, Schneider, Target, SBI, Adidas, Nambiar Builders, were among the few who participated in the CXO Power mile run and supported the cause and theme of Bangalore Midnight Marathon 2013.

Rajesh Nambiar, director, Nambiar Builders, the main presenters of the CXO Power Mile, said: “We are really happy to be associated with RBITC for this social cause. We, at Nambiars, believe in reaching out to the communities and building a perfect community experience. We are sure that associating with RBITC is a wise decision for this noble cause. The experience in the Power mile run was different and unique and I hope to see more people participating at the main event and helping and supporting this noble cause.”
