Automotive companies have lined up a slew of discounts to push up sales in the last month of the year, when customers defer purchases to the new year.

Discounts also help auto dealers clear old inventory and step into the new year with most fresh stock.

For example, luxury car maker Audi has launched a "limited period offer" with special prices and easy EMI options on its A3, A4, A6 and Q3 models.

The cars on offer can be bought at benefits ranging from Rs 300,000 to Rs 885,000. In one of its schemes, the customers can buy the car in 2017 and start paying in 2019.

Similarly, a lot of Hyundai dealerships are offering discounts and benefits up to Rs 65,000 on i20 and its variants as the company is likely to announce the upgraded versions of the car early next year.

Likewise, Maruti Suzuki dealers across the country are offering discounts on several models including Ciaz and Ertiga, which saw prices rise due to GST.

The size of discounts and benefits differ from dealer to dealer and even city to city.
