Nine Congress MLAs from North Gujarat region alleged that the BJP led Gujarat government kept vengeance against the people of the region as BJP could not win more seats from there. They put the allegation that BJP government was taking revenge from farmers and stopped supplying Narmada water for irrigation through canals. Some of these MLAs reached secretariat in Gandhinagar on Thursday and gave a memorandum to the chief secretary Dr JN Singh in his office.

The undersignee of these memoranda are Radhanpur MLA Alpesh Thakor and other. The delegation of these MLAs reached under the leadership of Khedbrahma MLA Ashwin Kotwal. He said, "The BJP government is taking revenge from farmers of North Gujarat, especially Patan, Banaskantha and Sabarkantha as they voted for Congress in assembly polls. They have stopped water supply through Narmada irrigation canals on the pretext of repairing, but that can be done after the sowing season too. We demand that the government should start the water supply soon."

Alpesh Thakor, a few days back also had moved to concerned district authorities in Patan and had alerted that if the water supply for irrigation in North Gujarat was not restored, he would hold programme of gherao at CM's residence in Gandhinagar.
