Mumbai woman, 2 others held with charas worth Rs 1 crore

Ahmedabad Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday evening nabbed three peple, including a woman, from Ahmedabad with around 9.5 kilo of charas. The seized charas has an international market value of Rs 1 crore,the police said.

As per Hari Om Gandhi, Zonal Director of NCB, the cops received specific information about a huge amount of the consignment that was to be delivered to someone in Ahmedabad.

A woman from Mumbai was assigned the task. Acting on the tip-off, a team of cops reached the spot and nabbed two accused identified as Tabbasum Rajjak (38) and Nasiruddin Sheikh (57) from a place near a hotel on Relief Road.

The officer nabbed the duo when Rajjak was about to deliver the contraband to Sheikh. Around 7 kilos of charas was found from Rajjak's possession

During interrogation, Rajjak revealed that out of the 7 kilos of charas, 2 kilo was meant to be delivered to another drug supplier identified as Hussain Mansuri, who was waiting for her near APMC market in Juhapura area of the city. Acting on it, a team was sent to the spot and Mansuri was also nabbed, during which 2.5kg of Charas was recovered from him by officers.

"9.5 kilo of charas worth Rs1 crore was recovered from the three. Rajjak got the charas by using his contacts in Mumbai.They were using a bus to transport the charas from Mumbai," a cop said.
