After being overlooked by the BJP for a ticket for the upcoming elections, Rangeshwari Chauhan, wife of Godhra MP Prabhatsinh Chauhan, dared him to set foot in Kaalol. She also criticised the party for selecting her stepdaughter in-law as its nominee.

Rangeshwari, the third wife of Prabhatsinh Chauhan, was among the aspirants for the BJP ticket from Kaalol Assembly seat. Chauhan also threatened to quit if the party did not field his wife. Ignoring the threat, the BJP announced Suman Chauhan, wife of the MP's son Pravinsinh, as its candidate from Kaalol.

After learning that she had been denied a ticket, Rangeshwari dared her husband to set foot in Kaalol and campaign there. She also lashed out at the party and her stepson's wife, who was selected as the candidate.

"There were 22 ticket seekers from Kaalol Assembly. I want to ask BJP president Amit Shah a question: if the ticket was to be given to a woman, weren't there other women more capable than Pravinsinh's wife?" she told Zee 24 Kalak.

She claimed that Pravinsinh had just joined the BJP, and was abusing the party until recently.

Rangeshwari also asked the party to speak with the chosen candidate and find out if she knew basic details like what an Assembly was, or what a proxy candidate meant, and the caste-wise break up of voters in the area.
