Gandhinagar cops trash Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor & Jignesh Mevani's raid

Police have rubbished the public raids conducted by Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani, and Alpesh Thakor at purported hooch dens in Adivada village of Gandhinagar. They trashed their claims and called the effort as fake and a publicity stunt. The police superintendent (SP) in Gandhinagar addressed a press conference within a few hours of the raid on Thursday and also said that it was carried out to exploit political advantages.

Addressing the media at district police head quarter, Gandhinagar SP Virendra Singh Yadav, said, "They could recover only two pouches of indigenous liquor from the place they claimed to have raided. If the lady, whose house they raided was really a bootlegger, they would have found more stock. The woman also has alleged that a man named Pravin Bharvad kept these two pouches in her house."

"We have been investigating the case and assessing the complaints of these leaders and the lady. Two of these leaders are legislators and belong to other districts, but raided random places in Gandhinagar. Therefore we doubt their motive, it seems to politics-driven. No liquor is sold in Gandhinagar at any place and we strictly follow prohibition rules across the district. Their claims of liquor dens in Gandhinagar are totally false," Yadav added.

PAAS leader Hardik Patel, Dalit leader and independent MLA from Vadgam and Congress MLA from Radhanpur along with Sena leader Alpesh Thakor reached the village with their supporters and recovered two pouches from the house of a lady who purportedly sells indigenous liquor. They made a video of the entire incident and circulated it on social media too.
