Farmers & unemployed youth single-largest challenge for Modi: Yogendra Yadav

Agitating farmers and unemployed youth across the country are the single-largest challenge for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, academician-turned-politician Yogendra Yadav told media persons in the city on the sidelines of ‘Kisaan Mukti Yatra’.

He further added that the challenge for the Modi government will not come from conventional political parties or communal events like mob lynching.

On lack of credible Opposition in Gujarat, Yadav said that Congress party is the biggest obstacle in creating genuine Opposition in Gujarat and the country as a whole. “Rahul Gandhi, in his current form, is the biggest guarantee to Modi that there is no credible opposition,” he said. 

Earlier during the day, he had said that it was expected from largest political Opposition to lead the cause of farmers, but it is now up to over 162 farmers’ organisations to carry out the fight.

He added that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was a great experiment in democracy, but the rise was very fast and its fall was even faster. “If we had to wait for a few years, it would have been better,” he said and blamed the entry of mainstream politics in AAP, as well as the rising of personality cult within the party for its downfall.
