April has bid adieu with the highest maximum temperature recorded so far this season. At four Indian Meteorological Department stations, on Monday, the mercury hovered at around 43 degrees Celsius maximum.

Bhavnagar recorded the highest maximum temperature at 43.8 degree Celsius while Ahmedabad recorded 43.1 degree Celsius which was two degree above normal. Minimum temperature recorded was 26.3 degrees Celsius, a degree above normal and across the state, Valsad recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 22.6 degrees Celsius.

At present, owing to southwesterly winds, temperatures might be lowered by one or two degrees and this may bring marginal respite. For Tuesday, the Met department forecast clear skies and the maximum temperature is expected to be remain at around 43 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be around 26 degrees Celsius.
