LONDON: Former S Club7 singer Jo O'Meara, who along with Jade Goody and Lloyd was involved in the race row against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on celebrity show 'Big Brother', was attacked during her performing in a club.

The singer was left with a two-inch head wound after a bottle was hurled at her during the performance, the Sun reported.

The 29-year-old singer collapsed after the attack and had to be helped off the stage, the paper said.

Jo along with bandmates Bradley Mcintosh and Paul Cattermole were performing at Tokyo nighclub in Bradford, West Yorks, when she was attacked.

"It takes just one idiot to ruin everybody's night," said her bandmate Bradley after the incident.

The singer was rushed to hospital but later allowed to return to her home.

"We were all having a great time until the incident and would like to apologise to fans that our set was cut short," Jo said about the incident.

A 20-year-old white male was being quizzed by the cops.

Police are trying to establish if the assault was connected to the race storm at celebrity Big Brother, where housemates Jo, Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd had bullied Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.
