Pune FC to face Salgaocar in tomorrow's I-League clash

Hosts Pune FC will look to stabilise their place in the top five of the points table when they face Goan team Salgaocar Sports Club in a round 21 I-League clash here tomorrow.
       
The debutants have been a little inconsistent off late having drawn 1-1 against Chirag United, won 2-1 against Mumbai FC, drawn 1-1 against Churchill, and suffered a 0-1 loss to Shillong Lajong in their previous four matches.
       
However, when compared to the performance of some of the other big teams in the competition, Pune FC have left behind many of the more famous outfits.
       
A win tomorrow will further propel the chances of Pune FC, currently fifth in the table with 27 points from 19 ties, of finishing in the top five in their debut season. The local team will further take solace from the fact that hey had beaten the Goan club 3-1 in an earlier league encounter.
       
However, Salgaocar have proved they are no pushovers and have in fact emerged the giant-killers of the tournament having beaten league toppers Dempo 3-2 and Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan 2-1.
       
To ensure a repeat of such performance, the visitors must shrug off the inconsistency which has seen them drew with Mohun Bagan 1-1, lose 1-3 to Sporting Clube De Goa, win 4-1 against East Bengal, and lose 1-2 to Chirag United in their previous four games.
       
Salgaocar are 10th on the table having netted 22 points from 20 matches.
