UEFA Euro 2012 kicks off on June 8 with co-host Poland playing Greece in Group A, which also includes Russia and the Czech Republic.

UEFA EURO 2012 kicks off on June 8 with co-host Poland playing Greece in Group A, which also includes Russia and the Czech Republic. Defending champions Spain, which won Euro 2008 and then the World Cup two years later, will not be fielding star striker David Villa of Barcelona, who broke his tibia during the Club World Cup in December.
This is the 14th and the last Euro Championship to have only 16 nations in the playoffs for the final. There will 24 finalists from Euro 2016 onwards.
