It appears like India’s first Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan has settled down well in the Camping World Truck Series in Nascar. Driving for Starbeast Motorsports, he has got decent results considering it is his first year in Nascar, which is different from other open wheel racing. And the Coimbatore-based driver says he is enjoying his stint in America.

“Nascar looks promising and I have done only about one third of the races in the year. There has been a lot of support for me,” Karthikeyan said on the sidelines of the K-1000 Rally on Sunday.
The racer recently did a simulator test for Force India after the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and said: “I am happy with the way the test went.”

However, he feels it may not be very good to leave Nascar. “It will be a risk to leave something big like Nascar. I see myself being in this for some time. Getting out of America and then getting back in is not easy. I must admit that Nascar is lucrative,” he stated, adding that Nascar officials were in India for some roadshows in an effort to popularise the series.

Regarding the inaugural Indian Grand Prix on October 30 next year, he said: “I am looking keenly at the Indian GP. Every driver would like to be in the inaugural race in his country.”
